R.] 1974:160, Pls. 4, 5A [Records of the Australian Museum v. 29 (no. 4); ref. 7488] Off northern side of Naura Islet, Fergusson Island, D'Entrecasteaux Group, 9°36'S, 150°27'E, depth 2 meters. Holotype: BPBM 13608. Paratypes: AMS I.15633-006 (7), AMS I.16476-001 (3), QM I.6009 (1), USNM 207936 (2). •Valid as Dischistodus pseudochrysopoecilus (Allen & Robertson 1974) -- (Randall et al. 1990:269 [ref. 15987], Allen 1991:244 [ref. 19344], Mohsin & Ambak 1996:470 [ref. 27969], Randall et al. 1997:269 [ref. 25919], Allen 2000:110 [ref. 25868], Allen 2001:3344 [ref. 26132], Allen & Adrim 2003:46 [ref. 26830], Allen et al. 2006:1457 [ref. 29090], Allen & Erdmann 2012:601 [ref. 31980], Fricke et al. 2019:216 [ref. 36673], Parenti 2021:66 [ref. 38418], Allen & Erdmann 2024:653 [ref. 40796]). Current status: Valid as Dischistodus pseudochrysopoecilus (Allen & Robertson 1974). Pomacentridae: Pomacentrinae. Distribution: Eastern indian Ocean, western Pacific: Komodo (Indonesia) east to Philippines, New Ireland (Papua New Guinea) and Solomon Islands, south to Queensland (Australia). Habitat: marine.
