Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: East Africa east to Marshall Islands and Society Islands, north to Japan, south to New South Wales (Australia), Lord Howe Island (Australia), New Caledonia and Rapa (French Polynesia). Species limited to southern Australia (Motomura et al. 2016:358 [ref. 34411] but needs investigation). Habitat: brackish, marine.
