Current status: Valid as Pseudochromis jamesi Schultz 1943. Pseudochromidae: Pseudochrominae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Great Barrier Reef (Australia), Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands to New Caledonia, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa. Habitat: marine.
