Syntypes: (2) RMNH 7170 (1), BMNH 1867.11.28.213 (1). Spelled cirrocheilos 3 times in text, as cirrhocheilos in index (p. 102); cirrhocheilos regarded as a misspelling. Spelled cirrochilus by G├╝nther 1870:65 [ref. 1995] -- an incorrect subsequent spelling.
