Paratypes: NSMT-P 21794-95 (1, 1), 21796-803 (8, 1 ea.). •Valid as Pseudanthias truncatus (Katayama & Masuda 1983) -- (Katayama in Masuda et al. 1984:137 [ref. 6441]). •Valid as Anthias truncatus Katayama & Masuda 1983 -- (Shen et al. 1986:66 [ref. 13818], Paxton et al. 1989:503 [ref. 12442], Lee 1990:8 [ref. 19830]). •Synonym of Pseudanthias hypselosoma Bleeker 1877 -- (Randall et al. 1990:94 [ref. 15987], Heemstra & Randall 1999:2470 [ref. 24815], Randall in Randall & Lim 2000:610 [ref. 25122], Randall & Pyle 2001:34 [ref. 25690], Randall 2005:142 [ref. 28239], Parenti & Randall 2020:37 [ref. 37354]).
