Name originally spelled chaetodonoïdes. Illustrated on Pl. 13 (fig. 2) of v. 2, 1800 [ref. 2709], but with vernacular name. Also appeared in Sonnini 1803:151, 152 (vol. 8) [ref. 30473] with spelling chaetonoïdes on p. 151, chaetodonoïdes on p. 152.
