Kottelat (2013:763 [ref. 32887]) determined that bilineata Bloch, "Cynoglossus bilineatus" and Paraplagusia blochii (replacement name) refer to the same organism; and, to avoid tautonymy, he renamed Paraplagusia bilineata as P. bleekeri.
