Day specimens or part of holotype: BMNH 1889.2.1.4373 (jaws). Type catalog: Whitehead & Talwar 1976:154 [ref. 23762]. Carcharias cuspidatus and Odontaspis tricuspitatus are misspellings (see Compagno 2001:58 [ref. 26323]).
