Current status: Valid as Cirripectes alboapicalis (Ogilby 1899). Blenniidae: Salariinae. Distribution: South Pacific: Queensland (Australia), Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island and Kermadec Islands east to Easter Island. May be a complex of cryptic species, in that case restricted to the western populations. Habitat: marine.

patuki, Cirripectus variolosus de Buen [F.] 1963:58 [Boletin de la Sociedad de Biologia de Concepción v. 35/36 (1960-61); ref. 4325] La Perousse Bay, Easter Island, southeastern Pacific. Holotype: EBMC 88 or 89 (104 mm TL). Paratypes: EBMC 88 or 89 (125 mm TL). Original genus should have been Cirripectes. •Synonym of Cirripectes alboapicalis (Ogilby 1899) -- (Williams 1988:20 [ref. 7000], Randall et al. 1990:376 [ref. 15987], Randall 2005:484 [ref. 28239], Delrieu-Trottin et al. 2018:133 [ref. 36397]). Current status: Synonym of Cirripectes alboapicalis (Ogilby 1899). Blenniidae: Salariinae. Distribution: Easter Island (if valid). Habitat: marine.
