Distribution: South Pacific: Queensland (Australia), Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island and Kermadec Islands east to Easter Island. May be a complex of cryptic species, in that case restricted to the western populations. Habitat: marine.

Holotype: EBMC 88 or 89 (104 mm TL). Paratypes: EBMC 88 or 89 (125 mm TL). Original genus should have been Cirripectes. •Synonym of Cirripectes alboapicalis (Ogilby 1899) -- (Williams 1988:20 [ref. 7000], Randall et al. 1990:376 [ref. 15987], Randall 2005:484 [ref. 28239], Delrieu-Trottin et al. 2018:133 [ref. 36397]).
