Subjectively invalid; secondarily preoccupied in Parapercis by Labrus tetracanthus Lacepède 1801; replaced by Parapercis clathrata Ogilby 1910. •Synonym of Parapercis clathrata Ogilby 1910 -- (Cantwell 1964:268 [ref. 23974], Randall 2005:464 [ref. 28239], Allen et al. 2006:1490 [ref. 29090], Johnson & White 2012:58 [ref. 31991]). 2°Homonym. Paralectypes: RMNH 5949 (1). Not the same as Percis tetracanthus (Lacepède 1801). Parapercis quadrispinosa (Weber 1813) apparently is a replacement name. Lectotype selected by Johnson & White 2012:59 [ref. 31991]. •Synonym of Parapercis clathrata Ogilby 1910 -- (Johnson & White 2012:58 [ref. 31991]).
