No types known. Original as Labrus?. Subjectively invalid; secondarily preoccupied in Pentapodus by Pentapus iris Valenciennes 1830. •Synonym of Pentapodus paradiseus (Günther 1859) -- (Russell 1990:87 [ref. 19228], Allen et al. 2006:1246 [ref. 29090] with author as Richardson). 2°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Pentapodus paradiseus (Günther 1859). Nemipteridae. Habitat: marine.

Also listed was Plate XXIV. fig. A, but on preface p. vi it is stated, "The Plates referred to, and executed by Mr. Ford, will be published as a separate volume."
