Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa, Comoros, Seychelles, Saint Brandon's Shoals (Cargados Carajos) and Mauritius (Mascarenes) east to Marshall Islands and Pitcairn Group, north to Ryukyu Islands (Japan), south to Western Australia, New South Wales (Australia) at 35°03'S, New Caledonia and Tonga.
