Named for Russell (misspelled as Russel), here not considered as an inadvertent error, therefore spelling russelii retained. •Questionably a synonym of Siganus vermiculatus (Valenciennes 1835) -- (Woodland 1990:98 [ref. 19220], Kottelat 2013:441 [ref. 32989] spelled russellii, Woodland 2022:216 [ref. 40143] with question). Current status: Uncertain as Siganus vermiculatus (Valenciennes 1835). Siganidae. Habitat: brackish, marine.

Current status: Synonym of Siganus vermiculatus (Valenciennes 1835). Siganidae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
