Original genus should have been Tripterygion. •Valid as Enneapterygius annulatus (Ramsay & Ogilby 1888) -- (Randall et al. 1990:364 [ref. 15987], Kuiter 1993:324 [ref. 23929]). •Synonym of Enneapterygius atrogulare (Günther 1873) -- (Fricke 1994:187 [ref. 21827], Fricke 1997:165, 566 [ref. 23339], Johnson 1999:747 [ref. 25471], Randall 2005:471 [ref. 28239], Hoese 2006:1519 [ref. 28998], Fricke 2009:38 [ref. 30394]).
