Paratypes: BMNH 1933.2.23.195-199 (5), 1964.7.1.13-24 (12), 1964.7.1.25-27 (3), 1964.7.1.28-33 (6). •Valid as Haplochromis simpsoni Greenwood 1965 -- (van Oijen et al. 1991:174 [ref. 20956]). Current status: Valid as Haplochromis simpsoni Greenwood 1965. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Nabugabo, Uganda. Habitat: freshwater.
