Paratypes: NRM 26094 (7 or 6), 37082 [ex NRM 26094] (1, c&s). •Valid as Crenicichla hemera Kullander 1990 -- (Kullander in Reis et al. 2003:627 [ref. 27061], Varella et al. 2012:334 [ref. 32030]). •Valid as Hemeraia hemera (Kullander 1990) -- (Varella et al. 2023:2 [ref. 40273]). Current status: Valid as Hemeraia hemera (Kullander 1990). Cichlidae: Cichlinae. Distribution: South America: Aripuana River drainage, Amazon River basin, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
