Syntypes: BMNH 1891.11.30.135-138 (4). •Valid as Mastacembelus alboguttatus Boulenger 1893 -- (Travers 1984:143 [ref. 5147], Roberts 1986:103 [ref. 5802], Talwar & Jhingran 1991:1030 [ref. 20764], Kottelat 2013:312 [ref. 32989], Britz 2017:80 [ref. 35487]). Current status: Valid as Mastacembelus alboguttatus Boulenger 1893. Mastacembelidae. Distribution: Ayeyarwaddy, Chindwin and Sittans River basins, Myanmar. Habitat: freshwater.
