Holotype (unique): MRAC 12689 or 39492. •Valid as Pollimyrus stappersii (Boulenger 1915) -- (Gosse 1984:120 [ref. 6169], Kramer et al. 2013:17 [ref. 33002] as stappersi, Abwe et al. 2023:28 [ref. 39992], Dierickx et al. 2024:14 [ref. 41680]). Current status: Valid as Pollimyrus stappersii (Boulenger 1915). Mormyridae. Distribution: Southern-central Africa. Habitat: freshwater.

kapangae, Marcusenius stappersi David [L.] 1935:293 [Revue de Zoologie et de Botanique Africaines v. 27 (no. 2); ref. 13878] Katanga (now Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo. Holotype: MRAC 39492. •Synonym of Pollimyrus stappersii (Boulenger 1915), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Gosse 1984:120 [ref. 6169], Dierickx et al. 2024:14 [ref. 41680]). Current status: Synonym of Pollimyrus stappersii (Boulenger 1915). Mormyridae. Habitat: freshwater.
