Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:51 [ref. 13621]. •Synonym of Poptella longipinnis (Popta 1901) -- (Reis 1989:27 [ref. 14219], Reis in Reis et al. 2003:210 [ref. 27061]). Current status: Synonym of Poptella longipinnis (Popta 1901). Acestrorhamphidae: Stethaprioninae. Habitat: freshwater. longipinnis, Tetragonopterus Popta [C. M. L.] 1901:85, Fig. [Notes from the Leyden Museum v. 23 (no. 2) (art. 10) (for Apr. 1901); ref. 20702] Below Nickerie, between le Manilie-kreek and l'Arrawarra, Suriname. Lectotype: RMNH 13033. Paralectotypes: ?BMNH 1908.1.27.4 (1), RMNH 7507 (7). Lectotype selected by Reis 1989:28 [ref. 14219]. •Valid as Poptella longipinnis (Popta 1901) -- (Reis 1989:27 [ref. 14219], Reis in Reis et al. 2003:210 [ref. 27061], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:46 [ref. 35633], Garcia-Ayala et al. 2017:572 [ref. 35695], Garcia-Ayala & Benine 2019:7 [ref. 36770], Garcia-Ayala & Benine 2021:7 [ref. 38089], Borstein et al. 2022:16 [ref. 39507], Taphorn et al. 2022:19 [ref. 41297]). Current status: Valid as Poptella longipinnis (Popta 1901). Acestrorhamphidae: Stethaprioninae. Distribution: South America: Orinoco River basin and coastal drainages of Suriname and lower Tocantins River (Brazil, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater. |
