Current status: Valid as Stigmatogobius pleurostigma (Bleeker 1849). Oxudercidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Vietnam, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore; Borneo, Sumatra and Java (Indonesia). IUCN (2025): Least Concern. Habitat: freshwater, brackish. spilopleura, Vaimosa Smith [H. M.] 1933:66, Pl. 2 (fig. 2) [Journal of the Siam Society, Natural History Supplement v. 9 (no. 1); ref. 4051] Estuary of Chantabun River, southeastern Thailand. Holotype: KUMF 1894 (45.5 mm) or KUMF 182. Paratypes: KUMF 1894 (4). •Synonym of Stigmatogobius pleurostigma (Bleeker 1849) -- (Larson 2001:211 [ref. 25522], Larson 2005:357 [ref. 28521], Kottelat 2013:430 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Stigmatogobius pleurostigma (Bleeker 1849). Oxudercidae: Gobionellinae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish. |
