Current status: Valid as Taeniacara candidi Myers 1935. Cichlidae: Cichlinae. Distribution: Amazon River basin, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.

Arnold made the name available and he (unfortunately) is the author; Ahl suggested the name but did not participate in the act that made the name available. Misspelled Apistogramma weisii by Schneider 1987:82 [ref. 31265], based on a misidentification of Apistogramma sp. •Synonym of Taeniacara candidi Myers 1935 -- (Kullander in Reis et al. 2003:642 [ref. 27061], Staeck 2003:118, 198 [ref. 27488], Paepke & Schindler 2013:264 [ref. 32895]).
