Holotype: MNHN A-8837. •Synonym of Arapaima gigas (Schinz 1822) -- (Ferraris in Reis et al. 2003:31 [ref. 27061], Stewart 2013:38 [ref. 32556]). Current status: Synonym of Arapaima gigas (Schinz 1822). Arapaimidae. Habitat: freshwater.
