lacustris, Salmo Linnaeus [C.] 1758:309 [Systema Naturae, Ed. X v. 1; ref. 2787] Switzerland (several localities). No types known. Kottelat 1997:143 [ref. 22952] "restricted" the type locality to Lake Constance, Switzerland, but the Code does not provide for such restriction in that manner. •Synonym of Salmo trutta Linnaeus 1758 -- (Berg 1948:250 [ref. 12882]). •Synonym of Salmo trutta Linnaeus 1758 or valid as Salmo lacustris Linnaeus 1758 -- (Kottelat 1997:143 [ref. 22952]). •Synonym of Salmo trutta Linnaeus 1758, but a valid subspecies -- (Svetovidov in Whitehead et al. 1984:382 [ref. 13675], Lelek 1987:112 [ref. 22962]).
