Holotype: USNM 171004. Paratypes: USNM 171005 (1), 202530 [ex UW 14378] (1), 202531 [ex UW 14379] (1), 202532 [ex UW 14377] (1). •Valid as Bathophilus flemingi Aron & McCrery 1958 -- (Peden et al. 1985:4 [ref. 24081], Matarese et al. 1989:110 [ref. 26885], McAllister 1990:94 [ref. 14674], Mecklenburg et al. 2002:225 [ref. 25968], Love et al. 2005:38 [ref. 37547], Castellanos-Galindo et al. 2006:251 [ref. 28944], Burton & Lea 2019:43 [ref. 37205], Love et al. 2021:59 [ref. 39279]). Current status: Valid as Bathophilus flemingi Aron & McCrery 1958. Stomiidae: Melanostomiinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Gulf of Alaska (U.S.A.) south to Pacific coast of central Baja California (Mexico). Habitat: marine.
