Paratypes: CSIRO B 3420 (1). •Mention -- (Cohen in Cohen et al. 1990:16 [ref. 18936]). •Valid as Bregmaceros rarisquamosus Munro 1950 -- (D'Ancona & Cavinato 1965:39 [ref. 9208], Paxton et al. 1989:306 [ref. 12442], Carpenter et al. 1997:124 [ref. 23922], Iwamoto 1999:1997 [ref. 24761], Torii et al. 2003:28 [ref. 27810], Paxton et al. 2006:622 [ref. 28996], Fricke et al. 2011:362 [ref. 31242], Fricke et al. 2014:32 [ref. 33932], Eagderi et al. 2019:32 [ref. 37020], Anderson 2022:244 [ref. 39705]). Current status: Valid as Bregmaceros rarisquamosus Munro 1950. Bregmacerotidae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman east to Palau and Papua New Guinea, north to Philippines, south to northern Australia. Habitat: marine.
