Paralectotypes: ZMUO J5053 (1). Type catalog: Pethon 1969:5 [ref. 19268]. Also in Collett 1875:117, Pl. 2 (fig. 3) [ref. 884] and spelled septemtrionalis. Lectotype figured in Collett 1875:Pl. 2 [ref. 884]. •Valid as Ciliata septentrionalis (Collett 1875) -- (Svetovidov 1973:312 [ref. 7169], Svetovidov in Whitehead et al. 1986:698 [ref. 13676], Cohen in Cohen et al. 1990:33 [ref. 18936], Nelson et al. 2004:93 [ref. 27807], Fricke 2007:28 [ref. 30577], Mecklenburg et al. 2011:120 [ref. 31212], Page et al. 2013:93 [ref. 32708], Parin et al. 2014:180 [ref. 33547], Mecklenburg et al. 2018:123 [ref. 36370]). Current status: Valid as Ciliata septentrionalis (Collett 1875). Gaidropsaridae. Distribution: Eastern North Atlantic and doubtful in Arctic regions, Habitat: marine.
