Syntypes: (6) BMNH 1934.12.19.29 [ex MOM] (2?), MOM 0091-1026 (4). Type catalog: Belloc 1949:17 [ref. 21544], Bailly et al. 1999:232 [ref. 24244] wrongly with a holotype. Original genus should have been Macrourus. Species illustrated and described in more detail in Zugmayer 1911:123, Pl. 6 (fig. 2) [ref. 4846]. •Synonym of Nezumia sclerorhynchus (Valenciennes 1838) -- (Marshall 1973:291 [ref. 7194], Geistdoerfer 1990:560 [ref. 16195], Iwamoto in Cohen et al. 1990:284 [ref. 18936], Bailly et al. 1999:232 [ref. 24244]).
