Holotype (unique): USNM 50006. •Valid as Batrachoides goldmani Evermann & Goldsborough 1902 -- (Collette & Russo 1981:218 [ref. 5575], Espinosa Pérez et al. 1993:31 [ref. 22290], Castro-Aguirre et al. 1999:170 [ref. 24550], Collette in Reis et al. 2003:509 [ref. 27061], Nelson et al. 2004:94 [ref. 27807], Miller 2006:179 [ref. 28615], Greenfield et al. 2008:676 [ref. 30046], Page et al. 2013:96 [ref. 32708]). Current status: Valid as Batrachoides goldmani Evermann & Goldsborough 1902. Batrachoididae: Batrachoidinae. Distribution: Southern North America and Central America: Río Usumacinta-Grijalva in Atlantic watersheds of southern Mexico and northern Guatemala. Habitat: freshwater.
