brevirostris, Hemirhamphus Günther [A.] (ex Kner) 1866:274 [Catalogue of the fishes in the British Museum v. 6; ref. 1983] East Indies. Syntypes: whereabouts unknown. Original genus is correctly Hemiramphus. Based on Hemirhamphus dispar of Kner 1860:537, fig. 3 [ref. 2633]. Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Hemirhamphus brevirostris Cuvier 1829, replaced by Zenarchopterus gilli Smith 1945.
