spillmanni, Epiplatys Arnoult [J.] 1960:219, Fig. [Bulletin du Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle (Série 2) v. 32 (no. 3); ref. 11889] Creek in Nannafoues forest, vicinity of Bouaké, about 7°52'N, 5°12'W, central Ivory Coast. Holotype: MNHN 1960-0394. Paratypes: MNHN 1960-0394 bis (1), 1960-0395 (8), 1960-0396 (12), B-2991 (1). Type catalog: Blanc 1961:273 [ref. 20870]. •Synonym of Epiplatys chaperi (Sauvage 1882) -- (Wildekamp et al. 1986:248 [ref. 6198]). •Synonym of Epiplatys chaperi (Sauvage 1882), but a valid subspecies spillmanni Arnoult 1960 -- (Huber 1982:63 [ref. 20638], Romand in Lévêque et al. 1992:631 [ref. 21590], Wildekamp 1996:44 [ref. 23649], Lazara 2001:103 [ref. 25711]). Current status: Synonym of Epiplatys chaperi (Sauvage 1882). Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: Central Ivory Coast, West Africa (this subspecies). Habitat: freshwater.
