A.] 1915:203 [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (Series 8) v. 15 (no. 86); ref. 14997] Probably Maka, at mough of Moa River, about 7°08'N, 11°33'W, Sierra Leone. Syntypes: BMNH 1914.12.9.5-6 (2). •Valid as Pseudepiplatys annulatus (Boulenger 1915) -- (Aarn & Shepherd 2001:223 [ref. 25699]). •Valid as Epiplatys annulatus (Boulenger 1915) -- (Wildekamp et al. 1986:244 [ref. 6198], Lévêque et al. 1989:121 [ref. 26480], Paugy et al. 1990:341 [ref. 26477], Romand in Lévêque et al. 1992:628 [ref. 21590], Poll & Gosse 1995:213 [ref. 24781] with genus controversial, Wildekamp 1996:22 [ref. 23649], Seegers 1997:16 [ref. 23895], Lazara 2001:99 [ref. 25711], Collier et al. 2009:192 [ref. 30003], Huber 2024:39 [ref. 41036]). Current status: Valid as Epiplatys annulatus (Boulenger 1915). Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: West Africa: Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Habitat: freshwater.
