Subjectively invalid; secondarily preoccupied by Etheostoma maculata Kirtland 1841 when both are in Etheostoma and secondarily preoccupied in Percina by Alvordius maculatus Girard 1859, replaced by Hadropterus notogrammus Raney & Hubbs 1948.
