Holotype: BMNH 1975.6.3.2. Paratypes: (16 skeletons, 23 + 11 specimens). CFRI Mus. (specimens); HMSMZ (2), HMSCMC (2) and HMSM (15). •Valid as Serranochromis mortimeri (Bell-Cross 1975) -- (Skelton & Teugels 1991:450 [ref. 20962]). •Valid as Sargochromis mortimeri (Bell-Cross 1975) -- (Skelton 1993:309 [ref. 24071]). Current status: Valid as Sargochromis mortimeri (Bell-Cross 1975). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Zambia. Habitat: freshwater.
