macleayi, Petroscirtes Ogilby [J. D.] 1886:38 [Catalogue of the fishes of New South Wales, with their principal synonyms; ref. 13268] Port Jackson, New South Wales, Australia. Lectotype: AMS I.16412-002 [ex MAMU F1038]. Paralectotypes: AMS I.16412-001 [ex MAMU F1038] (11). Replacement name for Petroscirtes fasciolatus Macleay 1881, secondarily preoccupied in Omobranchus by Blennechis fasciolatus Valenciennes 1836. Lectotype selected by Springer & Gomon 1975:67 [ref. 6083]. •Valid as Omobranchus macleayi (Ogilby 1887) -- (Springer 1972:14 [ref. 4178]). •Synonym of Omobranchus rotundiceps (Macleay 1881) -- (Springer & Gomon 1975:63 [ref. 6083], Smith-Vaniz 1976:149 [ref. 4144], Hoese & Bray 2006:1558 [ref. 29000]). Replacement Name. Current status: Synonym of Omobranchus rotundiceps (Macleay 1881). Blenniidae: Blenniinae. Habitat: marine.
