Appeared first and dates to Bleeker in Günther 1862 as Chromis macrocephalus; Bleeker 1863 is therefore preoccupied and objectively invalid. •Synonym of Sarotherodon melanotheron Rüppell 1852 -- (Trewavas & Teugels 1991:433 [ref. 20954], Teugels & Thys van den Audenaerde in Lévêque et al. 1992:766 [ref. 21590]). 1°Homonym.
