On Official Index (Opinion 1481); suppressed for priority but not homonymy. •Regarded sometimes as a holocentrid, but apparently is an apogonid -- (see Dor 1984:72 [ref. 29757], Goren & Dor 1994:18 [ref. 25356]). •Probably the same as Siphamia permutata Klausewitz 1966 -- (Randall et al. 1986:193 [ref. 13253]). •Senior synonym of Siphamia permutata Klausewitz 1966 -- (Gon & Randall 2003:x [ref. 26750], Golani & Bogorodsky 2010:64 [ref. 35264]). •Synonym of Siphamia tubifer Weber 1909 -- (Fraser et al. 2022:209 [ref. 39752]). Suppressed. Current status: Synonym of Siphamia tubifer Weber 1909. Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Habitat: marine.
