Holotype: UMMZ 141858. Type catalog: Gilbert 1998:148-149 [ref. 23395]. •Synonym of Gila bicolor (Girard 1856), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Swift et al. 1993:107 [ref. 22379], Gilbert 1998:148-149 [ref. 23395], Moyle 2002:123 [ref. 26449]). •Synonym of Siphateles bicolor (Girard 1856) -- (Scharpf 2005:41 [ref. 28940]). •Synonym of Siphateles bicolor (Girard 1856), but a distinctive subspecies -- (Page & Burr 2011:172 [ref. 31215]). Current status: Synonym of Siphateles bicolor (Girard 1856). Leuciscidae: Laviniinae. Distribution: Owens River, California, U.S.A. [subspecies snyderi]. Habitat: freshwater.
