hypochromus, Allolumpenus Hubbs [C. L.] & Schultz [L. P.] 1932:322, Fig. [Contributions to Canadian Biology and Fisheries (n. s.) v. 7; ref. 2261] Off Newcastle Island, near Nanaimo, eastern coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, depth 37 meters. Holotype (unique): UBC 72-0152. Apparently the correct spelling for the species when in Lumpenopsis is hypochroma since -opsis is feminine. •Valid as Allolumpenus hypochromus Hubbs & Schultz 1932 -- (Eschmeyer & Herald 1983:248 [ref. 9277], McAllister 1990:170 [ref. 14674], Nelson et al. 2004:158 [ref. 27807]). •Valid as Lumpenopsis hypochroma (Hubbs & Schultz 1932) -- (Hastings & Walker 2003:804 [ref. 27260] as hypochromis and hypochromus, Mecklenburg & Sheiko 2004:7 [ref. 27604], Love et al. 2005:147 [ref. 37547], Page et al. 2013:164 [ref. 32708], Pietsch & Orr 2015:61 [ref. 34694], Kells et al. 2016:280 [ref. 35888], Love et al. 2021:188 [ref. 39279]). Current status: Valid as Lumpenopsis hypochroma (Hubbs & Schultz 1932). Opisthocentridae. Distribution: Northeastern Pacific; southern British Columbia (Canada) south to California (U.S.A.). Habitat: marine.
