Lectotype selected by Bell-Cross 1975 [ref. 6825] according to Skelton & Teugels 1991:444 [ref. 20962]. •Valid as Serranochromis codringtonii (Boulenger 1908) -- (Skelton & Teugels 1991:444 [ref. 20962]). •Valid as Sargochromis codringtonii (Boulenger 1908) -- (Skelton 1993:295 [ref. 24071], Skelton 2001:306 [ref. 27406], Marshall 2011:220 [ref. 31755], Bruton et al. 2018:94 [ref. 36373], Skelton 2019:236 [ref. 36564]). Current status: Valid as Sargochromis codringtonii (Boulenger 1908). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Southern Africa. Habitat: freshwater.
