Plus additional material. •Valid as Mugil galapagensis Ebeling 1961 -- (Allen & Robertson 1994:194 [ref. 22193], Grove & Lavenberg 1997:462 [ref. 24023]). •Synonym of Mugil cephalus Linnaeus 1758 -- (Thomson 1997:485 [ref. 23428], Castro-Aguirre et al. 1999:182 [ref. 24550], Whitfield et al. 2012:xx [ref. 32710], Kottelat 2013:282 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Mugil cephalus Linnaeus 1758. Mugilidae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Galápagos Islands. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
