Holotype: BMNH 1959.4.28.249. Paratypes: (24) BMNH 1911.3.3.39 (1), 1959.4.28.250-255 (6), 1959.4.28.256-267 (12), 1959.4.28.268-270 (3), 1959.4.28.271-272 (2), 1959.4.28.273 (1); MSNG 38916 (1) also paratype of P. riponianus. Type catalog: Tortonese 1963:339 [ref. 10350]. •Valid as Haplochromis saxicola Greenwood 1960 -- (van Oijen et al. 1991:171 [ref. 20956]). Current status: Valid as Haplochromis saxicola Greenwood 1960. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Victoria and Victoria Nile. Habitat: freshwater.
