Lectotype: ZSI 2245. Paralectotypes and/or Day specimens: AMS B.7676 (1, paralectotype) Bassein; BMNH 1870.6.14.38 (1); NMW 76614 (1); RMNH 2586 (1); ZSI B43 (1), B168 (1), ?A1020 (1). Type catalog: Whitehead & Talwar 1976:154 [ref. 23762]. Lectotype selected by Talwar & Whitehead 1971:70. •Valid as Gudusia variegata (Day 1870) -- (Whitehead 1985:229 [ref. 5141], Talwar & Jhingran 1991:97 [ref. 20764], Shrestha 2008:48[ref. 29923], Kottelat 2013:60 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Valid as Gudusia variegata (Day 1870). Dorosomatidae. Distribution: Asia: India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar. Habitat: freshwater.
