Species epithet misspelled champole by Cuvier 1831:236 [ref. 30376]. Simultaneous synonym of chacunda Hamilton, precedence given to chacunda. Hamilton's original illustration reproduced by Britz 2019:Pl. 140 [ref. 37532]. •Synonym of Anodontostoma chacunda (Hamilton 1822) -- (Whitehead 1985:252 [ref. 5141], Talwar & Jhingran 1991:104 [ref. 20764] with question, Munroe et al. 1999:1788 [ref. 24728], Kottelat 2013:58 [ref. 32989] with question). Current status: Synonym of Anodontostoma chacunda (Hamilton 1822). Dorosomatidae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
