Current status: Valid as Setipinna phasa (Hamilton 1822). Engraulidae: Coiliinae. Distribution: Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka [? China, Korea, Malay and Thailand]. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
