microlepis, Alepocephalus Lloyd [R. E.] 1909:146 [Memoirs of the Indian Museum v. 2 (no. 3); ref. 2814] Arabian Sea, depth 700-600 fathoms. Syntypes: (5, lost) ZSI 931-2/1, 2375/1, 2391/1. Figured in Lloyd 1909: Pl. 44 (fig. 4) [ref. 20539]. Reasons for loss of ZSI type specimens during WWII see Chopra 1947:349-350 [ref. 33077]. •Valid as Conocara microlepis (Lloyd 1909) -- (Markle & Quéro in Whitehead et al. 1984:240 [ref. 13675], Markle & Sazonov 1990:255 [ref. 14215], Sazonov 1997:787 [ref. 23745], Sazonov & Markle 1999:1893 [ref. 24739], Hutchins 2001:19 [ref. 25847], Sazonov 2002:272 [ref. 26009], Hoese et al. 2006:388 [ref. 29035], Sazonov et al. 2009:855 [ref. 30625], Costa & Mincarone 2010:353 [ref. 37483], Hartel & Orrell 2016:1769 [ref. 34565]). Current status: Valid as Conocara microlepis (Lloyd 1909). Alepocephalidae. Distribution: Atlantic and Indo-West Pacific. Habitat: marine.
