Holotype (unique): BMNH 1860.3.19.775. •Valid as Cobitis boutanensis McClelland 1842 -- (Coad 1981:13 [ref. 22348] as Noemacheilus). •Valid as Nemacheilus boutanensis (McClelland 1842) -- (Coad 1995:22 [ref. 23608]). •Valid as Paracobitis boutanensis (McClelland 1842) -- (Bănărescu & Nalbant 1995:443 [ref. 23187], Prokofiev 2009:888 [ref. 30604], Kottelat 2012:99 [ref. 32367], Mousavi-Sabet et al. 2015:340 [ref. 33744]). •Valid as Aborichthys boutanensis (McClelland 1842) -- (Thoni & Hard 2015:291 [ref. 33918] with authorship as McClelland and Griffith, Bleher 2018:118 [ref. 36647], Kosygin et al. 2019:74 [ref. 36729], Shangningam et al. 2019:370 [ref. 37201]). Current status: Valid as Aborichthys boutanensis (McClelland 1842). Nemacheilidae. Distribution: Upper Brahmaputra basin, Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh, India. Habitat: freshwater.
