griffithii, Nemachilus Günther [A.] 1868:360 [Catalogue of the fishes in the British Museum v. 7; ref. 1990] Correct: Arghandab, near Kandahr, Afghanistan. Syntypes: BMNH 1860.3.19.93-94 (2). Original genus is correctly Nemacheilus. •Valid as Nemacheilus griffithii Günther 1868 -- (Coad 1981:14 [ref. 22348] as Noemacheilus griffithi, Coad 1995:21, 22 [ref. 23608] as Noemacheilus griffithi). •Valid as Triplophysa griffithii (Günther 1868) -- (Menon 1987:204 [ref. 14149] as griffithi, Talwar & Jhingran 1991:511 [ref. 20764] as griffithi, Nalbant & Bianco 1998:116 [ref. 23810] as griffithi, Prokofiev 2001:195 [ref. 26613] as griffithi, Kottelat 2012:126 [ref. 32367], Çiçek et al. 2023:15 [ref. 40326]). Current status: Valid as Triplophysa griffithii (Günther 1868). Nemacheilidae. Distribution: South Asia: Arghandab River (Afghanistan and Pakistan). Habitat: freshwater.
