Details of original locality from Castro & Vari 2004:151 [ref. 28606]. •Valid as Semaprochilodus brama (Valenciennes 1850) -- (Castro & Vari in Reis et al. 2003:68 [ref. 27061], Castro & Vari 2003:147 [ref. 28606]). Current status: Valid as Semaprochilodus brama (Valenciennes 1850). Prochilodontidae. Distribution: Tocantins and Xingu River basins, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
