Type catalog: Vari & Howe 1991:33 [ref. 19022]. •Valid as Apareiodon paraguayensis (Eigenmann 1907) -- (Starnes & Schindler 1993:755 [ref. 21014], Bonilla et al. 1999:1 [ref. 25109]). •Synonym of Apareiodon affinis (Steindachner 1879) -- (Pavanelli in Reis et al. 2003:46 [ref. 27061], Litz & Koerber 2014:7 [ref. 33622], Mirande & Koerber 2015:11 [ref. 35117], Koerber et al. 2017:12 [ref. 35267]). Current status: Synonym of Apareiodon affinis (Steindachner 1879). Parodontidae. Habitat: freshwater.
