S.] 1814:318 [Zoographia Rosso-Asiatica v. 3; ref. 3351] Upper reaches of the river Kuchuk-Karasu at Krasna Sloboda village, a tributary of Biyuk-Karasu, a tributary of Salhir, Crimea, 44°58ʹ26ʺN, 34°44ʹ19" [rocky banks of mountainous rivulets of the Crimea Peninsula]. Neotype: ZFMK 93640-59. Neotype designated by Bogutskaya et al. 2023:12 [ref. 40045]. •Synonym of Phoxinus phoxinus (Linnaeus 1758) -- (Kottelat 1997:74 [ref. 22952], Kottelat 2007:156 [ref. 29201]). •Valid as Phoxinus chrysoprasius (Pallas 1814) -- (Bogutskaya et al. 2023:10 [ref. 40045], Dyldin et al. 2023:[36] [ref. 40328] with question, Artaev et al. 2024:301 [ref. 40926]). Current status: Valid as Phoxinus chrysoprasius (Pallas 1814). Leuciscidae: Phoxininae. Distribution: Southeast Europe: Salhir River drainage (Crimea). Habitat: freshwater.
